About this tool
Each monthly deposit earns interest for the months it stays in the account. Interest is compounded every quarter, as most Indian banks do, so a deposit that stays for m months grows by (1 + R ÷ 400)^(m ÷ 3). The maturity amount is the sum of all deposits with their interest. For example, ₹5,000 a month for 3 years at 6.5% gives about ₹1.99 lakh. Banks may use slightly different methods, so your bank's figure may differ. Tax on interest is not included.
