Mask Aadhaar and ID Online
Hide the numbers you do not want to share, such as the first 8 digits of an Aadhaar number. Draw black boxes over them in a PDF or photo and save a new file. Your document is processed on your device and never uploaded.
How to use Aadhaar & ID Mask Tool
- Choose your PDF or photo.
- Drag a box over each part you want to hide. Use Undo last box if you make a mistake.
- Click Download masked file.
- Share the new masked file instead of the original.
About this tool
The boxes are burned into the picture, and for a PDF every page is saved as a picture. This means the hidden parts are truly gone and cannot be copied or recovered from the new file, which is not the case when a box is simply placed over text. The downside is that the text in the new PDF can no longer be selected. A masked Aadhaar normally shows only the last 4 digits, so cover the first 8. You draw the boxes yourself, the tool does not find the numbers automatically. It also works for PAN, account numbers and any other detail. Always check the saved file before you share it.
Frequently asked questions
Does it hide the number for real?
Yes. The boxes are merged into the picture, and a PDF is saved as pictures, so the hidden part cannot be copied or recovered.
Which digits of an Aadhaar should I hide?
A masked Aadhaar shows only the last 4 digits, so hide the first 8. Check who you are sharing it with and what they need.
Does it find the number automatically?
No. You draw the boxes yourself, so please check the result before sharing.
Why can't I select text in the new PDF?
Each page is saved as a picture so that the hidden parts cannot be recovered. That is also why the text cannot be selected.
Is my Aadhaar uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.
Can I use it for other documents?
Yes. You can hide any detail in any PDF or photo, such as PAN, a bank account number or an address.
