How to Mask Your Aadhaar Card Before Sharing

A masked Aadhaar shows only the last four digits of the number. It is a safer way to share a copy when the other party does not need the full number.

Why mask it?

Your full Aadhaar number is sensitive. Sharing the full number with every shop, hotel or office increases the risk of misuse. A masked copy, which hides the first eight digits, is widely accepted for address and identity proof.

Step by step

  1. Open the Aadhaar & ID Mask Tool.
  2. Choose your Aadhaar PDF or image.
  3. Draw black boxes over the first eight digits (and anything else you want to hide).
  4. Check the preview, then download the masked file.

Why a black box in a normal editor is not enough

If you draw a shape over text in a regular PDF editor, the original text often stays underneath and can be copied or revealed. This tool rebuilds each PDF page as a flat image with the boxes burned in, so the hidden digits are removed from the file.
