How to Merge PDF Files Into One
Job applications, loan files and college forms often ask for a single PDF. Here is how to combine many files into one, in the order you want.
When you need to merge PDFs
Typical cases are combining an application form with ID proof, joining scanned pages from different days, or putting invoices into one monthly file.
Step by step
- Open Merge PDF.
- Add all the PDF files you want to join.
- Arrange them in the correct order, because the final document follows the list order.
- Click merge and download the combined PDF.
Before you merge
- Rename files with numbers (01, 02, 03) so the order is easy to check.
- Turn photos into PDF first using Image to PDF.
- Fix sideways pages with Rotate PDF.
After you merge
If the merged file is too large for the upload form, use Compress PDF. If you later need only some pages back, use Split PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Does the order of files matter?
Yes. Pages appear in the same order as the files in your list, so arrange them before merging.
Is there a limit on how many files I can merge?
There is no fixed limit in the tool, but very large files use your device memory. If the browser slows down, merge in smaller groups.
Will merging change the quality?
No. Merging joins the pages without recompressing them.
